Greetings, fellow learner! I am a certified public accountant turned speech language pathologist with over two decades of experience as an educator and professional development facilitator. I am passionate about teaching nervous system literacy — understanding our body’s survival instinct and harnessing that awareness as a superpower for self-management — to young and seasoned minds alike!

  • My private practice...

    …is in Asheville, North Carolina where I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains with my wife, Babs, and my pandemic rescue dog, Ruby Biscuits (who I saved from the jaws of a bear, more on that later). Also, I have a model brain that sits on my desk and travels with me when I teach for organizations. One of my students stuck googly eyes on my spare brain and named it Cecelia Alfred George. We call it Cece for short.

  • My current work as a neurodiversity and social emotional coach...

    …combines my fields of expertise with neuroscience, mindfulness and nonviolent communication to empower the strengths of your neurodivergent or developing brain with practical, personal leadership skills so you can rock life as your authentic best self.   • I share my passions...

    …with adults as a professional development facilitator. I teach my SHARE Storytelling Routine as an accessible restorative practice for professionals working to create equitable, inclusive spaces for youth. As a certified teacher for the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, I facilitate mindfulness-based emotional intelligence programs for organizations to help adults embody the same nervous system literacy and social emotional skills we seek to teach our children. And yes, my spare brain has traveled from New York to California to assist with this work!

My dual roles…

…I survived a bear attack in 2023!

It’s a good thing that I have my spare brain Cece as my teaching partner, because I lost my mind for a time during my post-traumatic period. But, surviving the attack gifted me with profound learning that made me even more passionate about teaching nervous system literacy.
